How To Do In Person Sales Without A Studio

We know that navigating In Person Sales (IPS) without a studio can be a STRUGGLE (trust us, we’ve been there!). But, that doesn’t mean it cant be done! While it might be a little bit more work on your end, you can still achieve the same IPS workflow from a number of places other than a studio. We’re excited to share some of our favorite ways to create an amazing experience for your clients, even if you don’t have your own space to do so. 👏🏻

MUTUAL LOCATION

We love the idea of holding your IPS at a location that is practical and neutral both you and your clients! If your clients are from out of town, the hotel they’re staying in while in the area is a perfect location to meet up and talk sales. Another great place to meet up would be your couples Wedding Venue (if your a wedding photographer, of course!) Most couples revisit their venue many times before their Wedding Day, so choosing to meet them on location is an amazing opportunity to not only scope out the venue, but also to get your couple into the perfect headspace to talk all things wedding related (that definitely means your prints, too!) We recommend staying away from distracting places like coffee shops or crowded restaurants, you want the clients attention to be on you and your work!

COWORKING SPACES

We love this option because it’s virtually like having your own studio space! Typically when going this route for IPS, these spaces can be rented by the hour, day, or you can become a member and have unlimited access + your OWN office! Be sure that the space fits your brand! If your brand is “light and airy” you don’t want to have a crazy colored office space to clash with your work! With all of the co-working spaces available these days, we have no doubt you can find a location that works perfectly for YOU!

CLIENTS HOME/YOUR HOME

If your clients live in your area, meeting them in person at your home or theirs is a great way to make a more personal connection during your sale! One tip for those who may be planning to hold an in home sale is to limit any distractions on both ends. We suggest talking to your clients/couples beforehand and guiding them through your workflow so they know what to expect, and have time to prepare for the sale! We know this may not be for everyone, BUT its a great way to have a successful IPS without a studio 🙌🏻

ZOOM/FACETIME

Although selling products in person is EXTREMELY beneficial for you and your business, having an IPS sale via Zoom OR Facetime is a great option for many reasons! You are able to meet with out of town clients, and can also be more convenient all around if your schedules/locations don’t aline. You can easily make this experience very similar to an in person sale by simply screen sharing your pre-design and customizations.
