Most photographers think the best way to help their clients design an album is to let them pick all the images. BUT, we’ve found that kind of approach to be extremely time consuming for both you and your clients. By taking the time to build a beautiful predesign of their album and guiding them through the customization process, you are able to walk away from your IPS session with MASSIVE upgrades and ecstatic clients.
Communicating the plan with your clients before hand is ESSENTIAL to a successful, profitable sale. Making the experience clear ahead of time is KEY. Your clients are going to have a much easier time making decisions if they know what the process and investment will be ahead of time. For this reason, we make sure to send over pricing and an explanation of the album design session process beforehand. When creating the pre designed album, make sure you are including as many images as you can. This is helpful for a many reasons! First, you want to make sure you are telling the clients FULL story. Showing everything from getting ready shots to the reception, as well as transition shots in between is so important when putting together a timeless album for your couples. You never know what images are going to be the most meaningful to the couple, so include as much as you can and let them decide for themselves whatβs worth keeping!
For example, a couple may really want images from the cocktail hour included in their album. But, if you fail to include these images in the pre design, then those images may just get forgotten about. It is much harder for your clients to remove or βdeleteβ images or spreads from their wedding album than it is to add them. Show them a beautiful design so they want to keep every image you include! βοΈ
These are the people who mean the most to the couple! These are usually family members or close friends, so be sure to do your research and figure out who these people are and include as many images of those people in the design as you can!
Your clients usually just want whatβs best. If you position yourself as an expert in albums and print products they are going to trust your opinion and look to you for guidance when it comes to finalizing the album.
At the end of the day, the more 5 star images you take on the wedding day the harder it will be to not include them in the album. This may seem obvious, but it’s a good reminder to keep pushing yourself creatively. It will pay off!
By simply incorporating all of these tips and tricks to design the best albums, you can start receiving MASSIVE UPGRADES too!! ππ»
